Winter Wonderland

Suitable for: Beginners *** Intermediates *** Advanced **

Set in the heart of the Val D, arly between the Mont Blanc, Beaufortain and Aravis mountain ranges Praz sur Arly offers over 140km of pistes using the Espace Diamant lift pass with links to the Cret du Midi by the nearby picturesque villages of Flumet and the Notre Dame de Bellecombe, (direct access via the Rossiere or Bernard’s lifts in the village). The cross-country pistes are linked with “Megève” region and greater Mont Blanc area (free access) provides a wealth of adventure and exploration.

The latest development to the ski-area of Praz sur Arly is the Ban Rouge chairlift, which has added an extra dimension to the ski area. The opening up of this new territory opens the door to a huge off-paste area with extraordinary views of Mont Blanc and the surrounding valleys..

The apartment is within easy reach of the ski lifts in the village (approx 400m) and 200m from the nearest ski rental sports shop.

Non Skiers

Megève is one of the best exclusive resorts in the Alps for non-skiers: It has a beautifully preserved medieval centre - now pedestrianised - with narrow cobbled streets, tastefully restored buildings, a pretty church, horse-drawn sleighs, a weekly market, an open-ice rink and plenty of marked paths for walkers.  There are lots of smart clothing, jewellery, food, antique and gift shops. The choice is endless, so much so that if you cannot ski you could do worse than wander round town window-shopping. In short, Megève is a resort to taste the mythic French 'art de vivre'
